Firstly I want to apologise for not being around much, for "hit and run" mass fav'ing and for my sporadic commenting on artworks let alone being able to post anything myself but there has been good reason.
So, they say it comes in 3's and as far as I'm concerned Im hoping thats all it is because I think I have been well and truly served my three and definitely DONT need a 4th....in any way shape or form!!!
It all started around 4 weeks ago when, I thought at the time things were bad enough giving up smoking (cold turkey) after 40 years during a severe case of artists block BUT I was wrong.
I started to experience severe back, shoulder, arm and neck pains to the point that I could barely sit in front of the pc which resulted in 12 X-rays and 2 CATscans with the results being a pinched nerve in my spine resulting in the need for physiotherapy over time.
Ok...so....started that....living on pain killers and heat rubs but relieved in the knowledge that sooner or later the pain would be manageable and I could get on with things and hopefully some more artwork. Strike 1 .......DONE !!!
So...bearing that as best I could for the last few weeks, to add insult to injury, at the beginning of last week...my pc decided to die. I wasn't overly put out by it at the time because I honestly thought given I was in an artistic slump along with my sore back, neck etc. that it was no big deal that a time away from the pc wouldnt be that hard. Well....I was wrong again. It was too hard to put up with for any longer than 2 days and spent most of last week (due to limited funds) learning how to fix my own pc even installing a new power supply with help from "the dummies guide to installing a new power suppy". Bingo!!! I had pc again last weekend after 5 days no pc. Happy. Strike 2 .....DONE !!!
"BUT WAIT....THERES MORE!!!" said Vince from the Schticky adverts.
On Monday....the pain in my shoulder, arm, neck and back got so bad that I could barely walk, or breathe. I had an appointment for one of my physio sessions at 3pm but decided to go earlier and see the Doc to tell him about the pain getting worse. This was 2.15pm. At 2.30pm I was in the critical care emergency ward in hospital being treated for a heart attack. Just 1 month shy of my 52nd birthday and here I am knocking on "THE" door.
Luckily for me though, the Devil wasn't ready for me YET. He said I still needed more work

Thanks to that and the wonders of modern medicine, I'm still here.
On Tuesday afternoon I had angioplasty with 2 coronary stents inserted through my wrist into 2 of my arteries which were blocked 90 and 80% respectively but now clear. I am feeling fine although a little tired and bruised from all the blood tests and cannula's driven into me. I will now be on a permanent regimen of medication for the rest of my life and obviously some lifestyle changes to lessen the risk of it happening again. On the plus side.......Im now smoke free 33 days and proud of it.
Other than that Im bored shitless because I am restricted to a lot of things for the next 2 weeks. One of them being driving ...grrrrrrrrr. BUT on the positive side...it means I have time to catch up in here lol.
So thats STRIKE 3 DONE!!! ......... now I cross my fingers and hope and pray there's no number 4.
Again I apologise for my lack of attention in here. Some things are way beyond our control but im bacccccccckkkkkkkkk !!!
