Heart's Crusade by SilEnigmaArts Heart's Crusade by SilEnigmaArts
~...Her father's Kingdom was at threat, each day bought the enemy closer but Princess Caliope wouldn't let the enemy deny her living her life as she had always known it, threatening her freedom to wander the grounds of the castle in safety and at will, as she had all her life.

It was due to this willfullness of his daughter that the King had charged James, born a mute and the son of his Overseer, to accompany Caliope on her evening walks, to stay near and protect her. The King had always trusted James who, two years older than his daughter had taken it upon himself to be her unofficial guardian all of their lives. Over the years they had forged a special bond between them as close as if they were blood, that of brother and sister. They had learnt to communicate in a special way with smiles, using their hands, laughter and often tears. Over the years and as they grew up together, they had embraced the beauty of the land, hid from each other in the secret places they had found around castle and often, would take the blame for each other when childhood disasters occured.

But now, as the enemy drew nearer, both had a great fear in their hearts. A fear that told them they could be parted for life, a fear that made them both realise that this bond they had, had grown into a deep unconditional love. The love of a man and a women, a love aching to be set free to embrace its passion, a passion they both felt with the gentle touching of hands brushing against each other innocently, the passion that showed in their eyes when they would look at each other ... a passion that was forbidden because she was a Princess and he the Overseer's son. And now as they stood facing each other, the sun sinking deep red in the sky, the vivid hues mirrored what they felt inside their hearts. They looked at each other not uttering a sound, for no words were needed, their eyes speaking volumes of what their hearts desired....their eyes asking "Dare we ...?" ~

Another beautiful piece Eni.Classic story of two people caught in a situation not of their making,a time where they face not only mortal danger but the true feelings in their hearts, and the possible consequences if they follow those feelings.A story and moment beautifully told and expressed through not only the wonderful composition setting the stage and placement of characters, but through the emotional palette and lighting and the atmosphere created, you can feel the connection of the characters.Visual storytelling both beautiful in its imagery and in it's heart.Truly wonderful :+favlove:

Thank you Shaun as always for the lovely comment. As you know I always try to create a story with my pieces that i hope would draw the observer into it allowing them to see more than just what their eyes see. You are one of those that DO see and I enjoy your perception and comments on my creations. Hugsss and thank you again Shaun
