His loving daughter was a good pupil, learning with a hunger that he remembered having in his own youth.
The castle would be hers forever to pass down to her family when the time came but until then, he would enjoy his daughter and
her company for every second, every minute of each day.
That time had now come, the day he had dreaded that he knew was inevitable. The day she would tell him she wished to mingle in the
outside world. He had to let her find her own way in the world and he knew she would be back but it was with heavy heart that he had hugged his dear sweet Lisette goodbye watching as she passed over the bridge and into the mountain. He would see her one last time as she emerged from the cave in the mountain before she would wend her way around and out of sight and as she stepped through the cave with lantern in hand, the wind whipping around her, he cast a spell across the great ravine. A spell that will be her constant companion, one that will keep her safe and comfort her in her dreams when she longs for home.
One that will show her a path of light in the dark and one that will lead her to the pathway home when its time to return.
Lisette steps through the cave, her thoughts and her heart racing with anticipation at what tomorrow will bring but as she turns to look at her father one last time, that anticipation is overtaken by a deep ache of sorrow. Today she is leaving her childhood home, all that is safe, familiar and warm.
A life filled with joy and the unconditional love of her father. A life she will miss terribly for today she is ..... "Leaving Wizard Mountain".
This piece is a Birthday dedication to
Happy Birthday Pierre. Wishing you a wonderful day!!

And you're very welcome
I am sooooooo far behind in my message center--I didn't find this until now, Karla. I am very sorry I didn't It's a beautiful work and a beautiful story to go with it A father's love endures--I like that part of the story best--and it's only natural that this father would use his extraordinary powers to keep his daughter safe throughout her life.
Well done my friend!
I Especially Like The Sparkling Light Ribbon And The Castle.
Lovely piece as always dear lady, evocative and beautifully balanced, with the cliff and cave to one side and the castle on the precipice to the other. You've really handled the light well in this one dear lady, the pale cast of the moonlight has been used very effectively, and the warm golw of the lantern on and around the main figure is very nicely done. (Sorry, it's the photographer in me, always looking at light).
Well done indeed. Nice to see you back, dear lady!
Thanks for your lovely comment Warren. You know me and composition and like you I am always honed in on the lighting and shadows. Getting them right is like the most important aspect of my work. I become anal about it, second guessing myself mostly and too often spending wayyyy too much time on it than is needed BUT I cant help myself....it is what it is.
