Wings Of Hope by SilEnigmaArts Wings Of Hope by SilEnigmaArts
They had been meeting in secret for six months. She knew that her father wouldn't approve of her feelings for Lord Chauster.

Lord Chauster was an unknown quantity to the community. He would shun invitations from the Lords and Ladies to social events. He was known as a recluse and because of this unknown quantity, people were always gossiping about him. At these social events, the men would retire to partake in port and cigars and would speculate about his wealth, more often than not, alluding to him being a dark rougue, but none had proof. And the women sitting in their pretty ball gowns, would lower their voices when they spoke of him, whispering their opinions with disdain in their voices behind delicately gloved hands, that he was a person of ill repute and that they would never been seen dead with him. But privately, each and every one of those women would entertain daydreams of this dark handsome stranger with long raven hair holding them in his arms and having his way with them. But....none of them had ever spoken to him, nor had they been close enough to even see the mesmerising icy blue eyes that Nichola would lose herself in each and every night as she had for the last six months.

She had met him while walking on the shores of the lake one moonlit night, her thoughts a million miles away, when, she saw from the corner of her eye, leaning against a tree, the unmistakeable sheen of the moonlight on Lord Chauster's hair. She could not move as she stood unashamedly staring at his rugged handsome features, but what had turned her feet to stone that she was unable to move, was the mesmerising icy blue of his eyes, enhanced by the glow of the moon. Then he disappeared. For a long time afterward, she still could not move but when she became aware once again of her surrounds, she lifted her skirts and dashed home. The next night she returned to that place and sure enough, he was there again but this time, he came out from the shadows of the trees and in four strides of his long booted legs, he had been standing in front of her.
The rest is history.........but here and now, on the day that she was to be betrothed to a man who was twenty years older than her, the lecherous, unkempt yet very rich Lord Aster, to whom her father had promised her hand in marriage, she was beside herself with fear that this marriage would be taking place in less than three hours.

Last night when she had met with Lord Chauster for what she thought would be the last time, he had promised there would be a marriage today but, it would be to him, with or without her fatherís permission.

Now as she stood in the silent gloominess of her room overlooking his castle on this misty morning, her heart was in turmoil. Lord Chauster was with her father now, would her father allow this union or would she be forced by the honour of her father's word, to marry Lord Aster?

Her thoughts were broken as through the mist, a dove came to rest on the balustrade of her balcony........a snow white dove, delicate in its beauty, so white that the misty morning light cast an aura around it.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Was this dove her messenger.......Were these the wings of hope.....

Wow! She's very beautiful! The way the light shines through the back of her wings as she is about to land. Well, I think it's a she, it looks to me like a girl bird. A birdette.

This is a very beautiful scene. I'd love to be able to open a door and see water just outside like this. No need to leave the house to go fishing.

Beautiful work with transparent fabriques and with that dim light of a misty morning. This time I DID read the story too. It makes your artwork even much deeper.
Fine work, my friend. :rose: :floating: :rose:

I was lucky to have found the veil transparency brushes my friend because quite often depending on the background of a shot , transparent materials are hard to manipulate to shot its transparency. In this case I needed the veils to help with that effect.
Im glad you finally got through one of my stories Mr Dingleberry.....without them the piece has no depth in my opinion so i try to bring the observer into the piece by setting the scene. Glad you like it :)

I promise to read them from now on. I noticed how much of help they can be when trying to get into the atmosphere of your pictures.

I found those same brushes (I think tey are same) last spring, though I haven't got a chance to use them yet. As much as I tested them, they looked fine. The pack I downloded had some skirts included. Of course they can be used as veils or something else as well.
Anyway, like I said before, you managed to make very natural looking transparency with them.

I'm starting a new manip. We'll meet later, my friend. :rose:

Glad you like it Derek...thank you. Ive been so lucky to have been given a whole swag of lovely poses of Nic in this dress so stay tuned for more in the future. To be offered exclusive shots like this is any manipulators dream lol.
I was a bit worried though that I made the story too long and that the room was a bit too dark given its daylight outside....but ...I think it works.
Hugssss again for the fav and your unwavering support Derek

A truly beautiful and emotional piece Eni.Once again you've crafted a romantic tale and captured it's heart visually.Wonderfully composed setting brings her world to life, amazing lighting and reflection give it such realism that it is easy to be drawn into her world and story..and with the palette used captures that atmosphere and emotion of both character and story wonderfully.A beautiful and wonderful romantic piece :+favlove:

Thank you ever so much as always for your truly lovely comment Shaun. Im afraid my stories are getting a bit too long winded but I think if I didnt tell the story as I see it, would be a misjustice to the piece. I think each piece should not only hopefully capture the observer's visual imagination but also be feeding their mental imagination to bring the observer into the mood of the piece as it was meant.
Thank you again Shaun....your support and encouragement is always appreciated
